Vitreous enamel vs Stainless Steel
One of the main contenders in electric storage units is the Aquamax range. With both vitreous enamel and stainless steel models available.
One variation between these two units is that the vitreous enamel range carries with it a 5-7 year warranty, whilst the stainless steel range has an extended warranty of 10 years. Furthermore, the vitreous enamel range can be purchased with a tank size as small as 50L or as large as 400L, whilst the range of sizes available with a stainless steel tank is slightly more limited, ranging between 80L and 315L.
However, the most significant variation between the Vitreous enamel and Stainless steel is that the stainless steel range does not require an anode. This is considered by many to be a great advantage as it reduces costs on maintenance and replacement of the anode throughout the lifespan of the system. However, the vitreous enamel range does offer built in anode protection, allowing it to remain competitive! Furthermore, the stainless steel range are considered to be as much as 50% lighter than their vitreous enamel counterparts, which makes these units far easier to install and transport.
